Kaddu ki sabji recipe

About Kaddu ki sabji recipe: Kaddu is the Indian name of pumpkin. The dish is prepared from mashed pumpkin and this can be cooked with potato, fish or dry fish as well. This is a must try and for a veg meal.

How to make this Recipe?

Key Ingredients

  • 1 Kg Kaddu
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tsp Saunf / Fennel seed
  • 1/2-1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Potato 2-3 numbers
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of  Garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp aamchoor powder
  • 3-4 tsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • Fresh Coriander leaves

Dish Preparation:

1. Take the pumpkin and potato and cut into small pieces. Wash properly.

2. Take a pan and heat oil in it. Add the methi / fenugreek seeds, saunf and saute on a low flame till they are light brown.

3. To it, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder / haldi, salt, pumpkin pieces and potato pieces and mix well.

4.Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 20-25 minutes (till they become soft) on low flame. Keep stirring periodically.

5. Once cooked, mash the cooked pumpkin and potato with a masher, add sugar, garam masala and aamchoor / dry mango powder, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

6. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Your Kaddu ki sabji recipe is ready to serve hot with poori/roti and plain curd.
