Gattu ki Sabji recipe

Key Ingredients

  • For gattu (either you can buy it ready made or prepare at home as per the following steps:
  • 250 gms flour gram (besan)
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp green fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 100 gms hung curd
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • For gravy:
  • 2-3 sliced onion
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 3 tsp coriander powder
  • 3 tbsp pure ghee
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 75 gms curd
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Dish Preparation:

  • Prepare a dough using besan and other ingredients as above for Make he gattu. Then roll into small dia cylindrical shape and cut out half inch pieces. Then soak heat them in water for 15-20 minutes. Then put out the gattu and keep in a bowl.
  • Heat the ghee and saute the sliced onions till golden brown.
  • To it add ginger-garlic paste and saute for few minutes.
  • Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder to it and mix stir well.
  • Add the curd and continue cooking. Add water as per requirement and cook till oil surfaces.
  • Season with salt.
  • Add the gattus and give a boil to the mix for few minutes and serve hot. Garnish with freshly chopped corriander leaves.
